SCOTT WILLIAMS
Managing Director
Scott Williams is a Registered Professional Surveyor with more than 30 years’ experience. Scott has worked in the Christchurch area since 1994 initially for a large corporate multidisciplinary consultancy. He then worked for a small family survey firm which developed into a multidisciplinary company with 40 staff called Glasson Potts Fowler. Scott was a director of Glasson Potts Fowler until it was sold to Downer in 2007. He held multiple management roles within the company including Christchurch Office Manager and National Survey Discipline Leader.
Scott’s area of expertise is in client development and management. He has experience in surveying, subdivision design, data capture and project management of large scale subdivisions. He has a comprehensive understanding of the resource management and development process. Scott’s skills include being able interpret clients’ requirements; balancing these with the statutory and regulatory restraints; simplifying the often complex issues associated with the land development and subdivision process.

ANDREW FRY
Director
Andrew is a Registered Professional Surveyor with more than 30 years’ experience. Andrew has worked in Christchurch for several large survey consultancies. Andrew is well respected amongst the legal community for his technical knowledge in surveying and the land transfer process. He has a broad knowledge of engineering surveying, resource management and cadastral requirements. Andrew has an extensive understanding of the LINZ Landonline system. He has an excellent technical knowledge and is experienced in project management.

MATTHEW ADAMS
Director
Matt is a Survey Technician with more than 30 years’ experience having worked for a number of small and large survey consultancies. Matt’s skills lie in his practical solutions to field work and survey processing of field data. He is experienced in topographical data capture and processing using the latest technology including GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, Laser Scanning and Digital Levels. He is proficient in field work, calculations, engineering set out and has a depth of experience in both residential and rural subdivisions.

BRENT GEORGE
Survey Manager
Brent is a Registered Professional Surveyor with more than 30 years’ experience. Brent worked for the government Departments of Lands and Survey, and Survey and Land Information in Palmerston North and Wellington, before it became Terralink NZ Ltd, until 1999. Brent worked for several Christchurch survey consultancies, before joining Mainland Surveying in 2022. Brent has a comprehensive understanding of the NZ cadastral survey system including Landonline. He has excellent technical knowledge on cadastral survey and survey data capture and is experienced in project management. Brent is widely respected for his geodetic project work, considered survey solutions and methodical survey processes.

JULIE MCMILLAN
Senior Surveyor
Julie is a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor with more than 25 years of surveying experience. She worked in Christchurch for several large consultancy firms before joining Mainland Surveying in 2013. Julie is known for her meticulous attention to detail. She is involved in the preparation of Christchurch city subdivision applications and the subsequent cadastral dataset preparation. Julie has significant experience with complex unit titles and a wide range of experience with Landonline.

BRADLEY COOPER
Surveyor
Brad worked as a licensed Land Surveyor in British Columbia, before moving to New Zealand in 2023. He is completing the full range of supervised work and the steps required to become a licensed surveyor in New Zealand.
He enjoys high precision work. Brad gained extensive surveying experience at hydroelectric generation facilities; on high liability slope sites; with building monitoring, underground surveying and maintaining geodetic survey control networks in Canada.
Brad is passionate about cadastral surveying and engineering surveying. He is accustomed to managing cadastral survey projects, and using survey equipment including total stations, GNSS and terrestrial laser scanners.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science, Geomatics Engineering specializing in Cadastral and high precision Engineering Surveying, University of Calgary, Canada.

PAUL HALKETT
Survey Technician
Paul brings over forty years of practical survey experience and knowledge to every job. He has a talent for quickly finding hidden boundary pegs. Paul is experienced with QEII Covenants and geodetic work, as well as general survey fieldwork.
RICHARD FARRALL
Survey Technician
Richard is our field expert. His areas are building set outs, building certificates, residential and subdivision work. Richard has worked for Mainland Surveying since 2015. He spends most days outside doing fieldwork.
